InHealth Mutual will enter Ohio’s health insurance marketplace in 2015 after selling off-marketplace plans over the past year. InHealth Mutual’s entry into the marketplace is already making waves in the Buckeye State; based on preliminary rate filings, the CO-OP is besting its competitors by nearly 25%.

But it’s not all about cost. The CO-OP is also very excited about the benefits it plans to offer to its consumers, which have been presented to the state Department of Insurance for approval. Among other areas, InHealth Mutual is focusing on preventive care, including behavioral health. A few of the innovations the CO-OP is utilizing are detailed below.

*Each member will have his or her copay waived for their first two visits to primary care physicians, as well as his or her first two visits to behavioral health physicians. The member will have the copay waived for his or her first generic prescriptions pertaining specifically to depression.

*Continuing a strong focus on behavioral health, InHealth has created a member portal for its Behavioral Health Depression Disease Management Program, which provides members with daily opportunities to check in and note their symptoms. The portal also contains a self teaching program supported by behavioral health specialists to empower the member to better self manage their clinical condition.
